Bi-Weekly Community Briefings

The bi-weekly community briefings occur every other Thursday from 3:00-4:00pm and will discuss a variety of topics related to the issue of sexual violence, including campus prevention programs, response protocols, support services, University Police, campus judicial process, and an open question and answer session.

We encourage everyone to join in this important conversation.  Dates, times and locations of future briefings are below:

Monday April 13, 2015: Sexual Violence Awareness Day


All Day:
  “The Clothesline Project," a national campaign which addresses the issue of violence against women by providing a vehicle for the women to express their emotions by decorating a shirt and then hanging those shirts on a clothesline.

7:30 -9:00 a.m. Tabling with Coffee and snacks for commuter students at the SDSU Trolley station
10:00 am Ceremonial kick-off on the steps of the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union  and the creation of SDSU's Teal Ribbon
10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Resource Expo on Centennial Walkway
Noon-1p.m. Informational Session in Metzli at the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union
2-3 p.m.  Self defense demonstration on Centennial Walkway


Tuesday April 14, 2015: Consent is Mandatory!

All Day:  “The Clothesline Project”

Noon-1p.m. Information session in Metzli at the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union

10a.m. - 1p.m. Interactive tabling on Centennial Walkway

3:30-5p.m. Workshops with Center for Community Solutions & Health Promotion including:

  • Healthy Relationships
  • What is Sexual Violence?
  • Bystander Intervention

7 p.m. FratMANners presentation on Affirmative Consent

Wednesday April 15, 2015: Masculinity

All Day:  “The Clothesline Project”

Noon-1p.m. Information session hosted by Womyn Outreach Association in Metzli at the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union

4:30-6:30p.m. Men and men-identified discussion at the Tula Community in Tenochca Residential Hall

4-8p.m Center for Leadership/Community Service in Student Life & Leadership at the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union

7-9:30p.m. Film Screening of "The Mask You Live In" sponsored by Aztec Athletics followed by an open discussion (location TBD)

Thursday April 16, 2015: Day of Healing

All Day:  “The Clothesline Project”

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Inspirational sidewalk chalk in front of the Open Air Theatre   

Noon-1p.m. Informational Session in Metzli at the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union

4-8 p.m. Center for Leadership/Community Service in Student Life & Leadership at the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union

4-8 p.m. Sidewalk chalking at the Open Air Theater Walkway

4:30-6:30p.m. Survivor’s Circle at the Tula Community in Tenochca Residential Hall. This will be a safe space. For questions or additional information please contact svtfstudents@gmail.com

7-9:30p.m. Film screening of "The Hunting Ground" in Montezuma Hall at the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union followed by a panel discussion.   

Friday April 17, 2015: Take Back the Night!


4 p.m. The March begins
The March will begin at the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union Courtyard then continue around campus and end with an event including open mic where individuals can share and live music will be played.
